Baseball Game Preview: Thompson Valley Eagles vs. Northridge Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Thompson Valley will face off against Northridge. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Thompson Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Northridge with a sharp 13-3 win on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Drae Balke tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Sam Engelland was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Thompson Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.

Northridge is on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11. As for Thompson Valley, their record now sits at 2-8.
