            The Eugene Eagles will challenge the Smithton Tigers at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Smithton took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Eugene, who comes in off a win.
Eugene was handed a 11-run  loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene  on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Belle  3-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
  Sam Schulte made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Smithton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  12-3 to La Monte, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
 Eugene's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Smithton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
