Crown Point faced Carmel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Greyhounds with a sharp 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riley Ackerman looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four contests.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Matusak, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaxtyn Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Crown Point's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Carmel, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Crown Point will host Homewood-Flossmoor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Carmel, they will welcome Zionsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
