Westmoreland proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 24) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Courtland Cougars 43-41. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayla Harvin, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Addison Schalkofski, who earned ten points and six boards.

Westmoreland's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Courtland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Westmoreland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-31 win against Rappahannock on the 16th. As for Courtland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 40-32 victory against Eastern View on the 17th.
