Baseball Recap: Buffalo Sets Scoring Season-High Against Poca

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buffalo). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Poca Dots a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Dots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Evan Panaro was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 games.

In other batting news, Caiden Craig was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luca Signorini, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Buffalo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Buffalo picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Poca, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buffalo will take on Hannan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Poca, they will face off against Braxton County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something the Dots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
