Football Recap: South Kingstown's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over + How To Watch

South Kingstown and Westerly squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but South Kingstown had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 44-21. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Rebels struggled afterwards.

Brayden Rosen threw for 115 yards and one TD. Jack Sullivan was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Dante Peno rushed for 125 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries.

Landon Husereau had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 233 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 62 yards for Westerly. The Bulldogs are undefeated when Husereau posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Daniel Cummings was another key player, picking up 154 receiving yards and three scores.

With the defeat, South Kingstown broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for Westerly, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coming up, South Kingstown will challenge North Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Westerly, they will face off against Stonington at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 922 yards in their previous games.
