Preview: Lewis County Panthers vs. Cornersville Bulldogs

The Lewis County Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cornersville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses for Lewis County and five for Cornersville.

Lewis County pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 92-69 defeat to Summertown might stick with them for a while. Lewis County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-28.

Meanwhile, Cornersville had to suffer through a rough 67-29 loss at the hands of Mt. Pleasant. While losing is never fun, Cornersville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 139th).

Lewis County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Cornersville, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Lewis County strolled past Cornersville in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 74-57. Will Lewis County repeat their success, or does Cornersville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
