Basketball Recap: Ogilvie Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Ogilvie challenged Upsala on Tuesday. The Ogilvie Lions took a 76-58 bruising from the Upsala Cardinals. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Dakota Soltis was nothing short of spectacular for Upsala: she posted 26 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Pilarski, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Ogilvie now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Upsala, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Ogilvie and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Upsala, they will welcome Osakis at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Upsala is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
