Soccer Recap: Socastee Comes Up Short

Socastee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. James Sharks. One thing that sure didn't help Socastee was the trouble they got from the refs, as Yury Santos and Hunter Richardson were both handed red cards.

Socastee's goal came courtesy of Shrinil Patel, which was the first he's scored this season.

Socastee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for St. James, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Socastee is set to challenge their familiar foe Carolina Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. James will square off against rival Myrtle Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. James are on a three-game streak of home wins, Myrtle Beach a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
