Basketball Game Preview: Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains vs. New Riegel Blue Jackets

The Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains will head out to face off against the New Riegel Blue Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hopewell-Loudon took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They slipped by Arcadia 28-27. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Chieftains as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, New Riegel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 55-49 win over the Golden Bears.

New Riegel is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Things could have been worse for Hopewell-Loudon, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-22 loss to New Riegel when the teams last played back in January. Can Hopewell-Loudon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
