Softball Recap: Brown County Comes Up Short

Brown County lost against West Vigo back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 13-6 to the Vikings.

Brown County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Sanders, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Maelyn Bowling was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Brown County has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for West Vigo, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Brown County will square off against South Putnam at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Putnam will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Brown County surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Vigo, they will face off against Sullivan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Arrows have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
