Soccer Game Preview: Fairview vs. Broomfield

Fairview hasn't had much luck against Broomfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will head out to take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Fairview put up the most goals they have all season on Tuesday. They never let Niwot get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Given Fairview's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Niwot are ranked 90th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fairview's offense was hitting Niwot from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Lucy Ochs led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Broomfield got the win against Rocky Mountain on Saturday by a conclusive 6-1. Considering Broomfield's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The win (which was Fairview's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Broomfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3-2.
