Basketball Game Preview: Maranacook Black Bears vs. Madison Bulldogs

The Maranacook Black Bears will take on the Madison Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Maranacook is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Maine Central Institute just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to the Huskies 37-32. The matchup marked the Black Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison). They ended the year with a bang, routing Old Orchard Beach 56-31 on Sunday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Madison now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Maranacook, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Maranacook came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 43-40. Does Maranacook have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
