Baseball Recap: Rauner Comes Up Short

Rauner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Muchin College Prep Mountain Lions. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountain Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Rauner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Ghanimah, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Ghanimah is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

Rauner's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Muchin College Prep, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rauner will face off against rival Golder at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Muchin College Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Mansueto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
