Basketball Game Preview: DSST: Montview Knights vs. Lincoln Lancers

Two dominant guards in Mykah Rimpson and Amina Abdikadir are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The DSST: Montview Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lincoln Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lincoln will be up against a hot DSST: Montview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. DSST: Montview breezed past KIPP Denver Collegiate to the tune of 48-18 on Friday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Knights had established a 25 point advantage.

DSST: Montview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rimpson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Rimpson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Sa'Veyah Rogers was another key player, going 7 of 17 to rack up 15 points and five steals.

DSST: Montview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past DMLK 43-21 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Lancers have posted since January 7th.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for DSST: Montview, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-5.

DSST: Montview came up short against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, falling 38-28. Can DSST: Montview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
