Basketball Game Preview: Navajo Pine Warriors vs. Dulce Hawks

Navajo Pine hasn't had much luck against Dulce recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Navajo Pine Warriors will square off against the Dulce Hawks at 7:30 p.m.

Navajo Pine is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They were outmatched by Rehoboth Christian and fell 63-21. The Warriors were down 52-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Navajo Pine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anthony Sandoval made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dulce). They blew past Ramah 90-47 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Dulce is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Navajo Pine, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Navajo Pine was taken down by Dulce 62-30 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Navajo Pine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
