Baseball Recap: Ohio County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ohio County can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers a 2-0 shutout. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 16-1 victory the Fighting Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Landon Hiner, who gave up just four hits to keep Breckinridge County off the board. Hiner has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ohio County's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Hatfield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Ohio County's victory bumped their record up to 6-21. As for Breckinridge County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.

Looking ahead, Ohio County will welcome Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Breckinridge County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Muhlenberg County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
