Softball Recap: Neshannock Picks Up 49th Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Neshannock rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Sharpsville Blue Devils 10-0. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Addy Frye made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Neshannock let Jaidon Nogay and Miley Anderson run wild. Nogay went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Nogay has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Frengel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Neshannock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sharpsville only posted a batting average of .118.

The win keeps Neshannock at an undefeated 23-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sharpsville, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9.

As of now, neither Neshannock nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
