Basketball Game Preview: R.J. Reynolds Demons vs. East Forsyth Eagles

The R.J. Reynolds Demons will square off against the East Forsyth Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. R.J. Reynolds knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully East Forsyth likes a good challenge.

R.J. Reynolds is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Glenn on Friday as R.J. Reynolds made off with an 82-58 victory.

East Forsyth got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They rang in the new year with a 70-58 win over Parkland on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Mustangs are ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Forsyth is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for R.J. Reynolds, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

R.J. Reynolds ended up a good deal behind East Forsyth when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 68-49. Can R.J. Reynolds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
