Baseball Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

Lamar lost against Booneville back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lamar Warriors lost 16-6 to the Booneville Bearcats.

Lamar saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaxton Aldridge, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Peyton Humphrey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Booneville's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-3.

Coming up, Lamar will take on Dover at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Bearcats coming up. Booneville will need to watch out since Mena has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
