Basketball Recap: Nebo Crossing Academy Starts Season with Loss at Home

Nebo Crossing Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Community Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 55-53 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Nebo Crossing Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Reece Galbreath, who posted 16 points. Cade Galbreath was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Leading Community Christian Academy to victory were JeKobe Floyd and Chaden Poole. Floyd put up 25 points and five rebounds, while Poole had 17 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Floyd's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Neal, who earned seven points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Community Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Nebo Crossing Academy and Community Christian Academy will both be playing Pinnacle Classical Academy the next time they take the court. The Warriors will host the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 5:30 p.m. on December 1.
