After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Salle Institute, Albany Academy for Boys was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Lansingburgh Knights. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cadets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Evan Derrick was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Willie Kimbler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Albany Academy for Boys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Albany Academy for Boys' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Lansingburgh, they dropped their record down to 7-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
