Baseball Recap: Maryvale Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Maryvale's offense. They came up short against the Cesar Chavez Champions on Thursday, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Champions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-3 last Tuesday.

Maryvale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alejandro Aguilera, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Aguilera snagged this season.

Maryvale is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Cesar Chavez, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Maryvale will challenge rival Camelback at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez is set to face off against their familiar foe South Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
