The Woodruff Wolverines will square off against the Chapman Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodruff is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 40.2 points per game this season.

Woodruff lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mountain View Prep, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Stars with a sharp 49-28 win on Friday. 49 seems to be a good number for the Wolverines as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Aiden Gibson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 299 yards and four scores while picking up 16.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 50 receiving yards and one TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Woodruff's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Adrian Hill was the leader with two. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Jordan Hood was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chapman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged out Union County 30-27. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won seven in a row.

Woodruff's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Chapman, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Woodruff against Chapman in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 44-10 victory. In that game, the Wolverines amassed a halftime lead of 23-3, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
