Football Recap: Sumrall Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Sumrall faced off against Brookhaven on Friday. The Bobcats took a 21-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Jaden Allen, who rushed for 78 yards and two scores on only ten carries, and also threw for 126 yards and one touchdown for Brookhaven. Caiden Quarles helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards.

Sumrall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Brookhaven, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sumrall is set to square off against their familiar foe Natchez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Brookhaven will take on rival South Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 11.1, the Braves 14.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
