Baseball Recap: Reedley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Reedley came out on top against Dinuba on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Pirates blew past the Emperors 12-2. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Alex Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Rocky Garcia and Richie Badilla did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Badilla went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most runs Garcia has posted since back in March of 2025. Andres Razo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Reedley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dinuba only managed four.

The victory was the third in a row for Reedley, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Dinuba, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Reedley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-9 victory against Central Valley Christian on the 7th. As for Dinuba, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Golden West on the 7th.
