Volleyball Recap: Calallen Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Calallen took on Goliad on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since November 12, 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-14, 25-14.

Taylor Paredez paced Calallen's offense, picking up six kills. Paredez got some help from Grace Martinez and her 19 assists. Martinez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Amelia Hernandez, racking up two apiece.

Calallen's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Goliad, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Calallen will be playing at home against Miller at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goliad, they will challenge Comfort at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
