Austin Dean tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Winkelfoos, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Banks Holman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

West Potomac is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Carmel Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Potomac will challenge South County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carmel Christian, they will take on Union Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
