Softball Recap: Celeste Extends Winning Streak to Five

Celeste entered their tilt with Sulphur Bluff on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 19-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-1 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Jenna Jayroe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Morel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Celeste always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .862. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Celeste's win bumped their record up to 12-4-1. As for Sulphur Bluff, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
