Baseball Game Preview: Arrowhead Christian Eagles vs. Aquinas Falcons

Arrowhead Christian is 2-8 against Aquinas since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 3:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

While Arrowhead Christian's victory against Ontario Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 3-2.

Brayden Bennett looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Daniel Rivera, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Aquinas is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Brophy College Prep. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Broncos. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Chase Davidson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Tena, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Aquinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Arrowhead Christian's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
