Soccer Game Preview: DeKalb vs. South Elgin

The DeKalb Barbs will face off against the South Elgin Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. DeKalb has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

DeKalb fell victim to Metea Valley and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Mustangs. DeKalb have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, South Elgin waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Give South Elgin's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Matthew Lipp and Emiliano Morales scored all three of South Elgin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

South Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 18-3-1. As for DeKalb, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10-2.
