Softball Preview: Cypress Bay Lightning vs. West Broward Bobcats        
        
		
            Cypress Bay is 2-8 against West Broward since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Wednesday. The Lightning will face off against the Bobcats at 6:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Cypress Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Monday. They never let Hialeah Gardens get on the board and left with  a   19-0  victory. The Lightning's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.

 Allena Dinneen was a standout: she got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, four  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Audrey Thomas also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 Cypress Bay  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .688. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West Broward made easy work of Goleman  on Monday and carried off  an  18-2 win. Considering the Bobcats have won 12 matches by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Lundyn Schor-Haskin looked comfortable as she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Alivia Artanis, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  stolen bases, five  RBI,  and two  runs.  Ava Difato was another key player,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases and three  runs.
 West Broward is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Cypress Bay, their win  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-11.
 Cypress Bay suffered a grim  7-0 defeat to West Broward  when the teams last played  back in March. Can the Lightning avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
