Football Game Preview: Port Allen Pelicans vs. Madison Prep Academy

Port Allen is 0-3 against Madison Prep Academy since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Pelicans will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, Port Allen ended up a good deal behind Parkview Baptist and lost 27-8. While losing is never fun, the Pelicans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Eagles are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, Madison Prep Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Kittens with points to spare, taking the game 32-14.

Madison Prep Academy's win came from a few key players Port Allen will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Landon Johnson, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 36 yards. Dylan Reed was another key player, throwing for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.

One reason for the win was Madison Prep Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Victor Hollins, Jamyris Allen, and Rocco Duhon, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Madison Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Port Allen, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4.
