Basketball Recap: Gallatin County's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

Gallatin County entered their contest against Simon Kenton on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Gallatin County Wildcats took a hard 62-47 fall against the Simon Kenton Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Pioneers are ranked 25th).

Jay Bilton was a one-man wrecking crew for Simon Kenton as he went 8 of 9 en route to 21 points. That's the most points Bilton has posted since back in December of 2024. Jordan Bach was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 15 points and five boards.

Gallatin County's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6-1. As for Simon Kenton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
