Basketball Recap: Orlando Cobos-Sosa Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy

After losing to Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy the last time they met, Kansas School for the Deaf decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Kansas School for the Deaf Jackrabbits secured a 50-46 W over the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams on Thursday.

Kansas School for the Deaf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Orlando Cobos-Sosa led the charge by going 7 for 13 en route to 17 points and seven boards. Those 17 points gave Cobos-Sosa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Grove, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teddy Zitron, who posted 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Naftali Tilove, who scored six points and five steals.

Kansas School for the Deaf now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Kansas School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, they will challenge Guadalupe Centers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
