Westmoreland's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Northumberland Indians 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Indians back in March, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Emma Burgess made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Burgess was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Burgess wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Gooch, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Westmoreland back to even at 6-6. As for Northumberland, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.

Westmoreland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
