League recap: Neville extends winning streak with victory over South Terrebonne

4A District 2 recap November 19, 2013

Neville extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating South Terrebonne, 50-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Tigers.

Neville took down the Gators 50-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Bastrop's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Doaty threw for 145 and 1 touchdown and Jamari Payne had 81 yards receiving. On the ground Kevin Heard chipped in 40 yards. Travion Burks helped Bastrop's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 35 yards.

Doaty put up the best numbers through the air as the Rams fell to Easton. Doaty's favorite target this week was Payne, who caught 7 passes for 81 yards.

Bastrop's Doaty and Payne have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Doaty has thrown for 2,733 yards this season, while Payne has 83 catches for 1,311 yards. Marcus Bingham from Franklin Parish leads the league in rushing with 1,152 yards.

The Patriots led the league in scoring this week by notching 52 points on Wossman.
