Football Game Preview: St. David's Warriors vs. Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs

The St. David's Warriors will take on the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. David's has given up an average of 32.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. David's is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Arendell Parrott Academy, who was ranked second at the time (St. David's was ranked 11th). The Warriors were dealt a 61-21 defeat at the hands of the Patriots on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wake Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on October 3rd. They blew past Wayne Preparatory Academy 44-0 last Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bulldogs just coasted through the last quarter.

Wake Christian Academy's win came from a few key players St. David's will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brady Stiltner, who threw for 115 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 61 yards on only eight carries. Trace Turner was another key player, rushing for 53 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Wake Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Patrick Ellis led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Turner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. David's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wake Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
