Softball Recap: North Victorious

North had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Lake Catholic on Thursday. The Rangers never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Violet Dichazy made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Gianna Pintar was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddy Ferrari, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

North now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Lake Catholic, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. North will take on Kenston at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Catholic, they will challenge Wickliffe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
