Softball Recap: Frankfort Panthers vs. Great Crossing

Frankfort extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-12 in the process. They lost 15-0 to Great Crossing. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Great Crossing this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-4 on Monday.

As for Great Crossing, the victory got them back to even at 8-8. Considering they have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Great Crossing's part, Brenna Parker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Parker has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kimberly Masino and Ellie Hoover did most of the damage at the plate: Masino went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Hoover went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Aubrey Green was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Frankfort will welcome Berea at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Great Crossing, they will head out to square off against Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
