Football Recap: Kimball Knights vs. Midlothian Panthers

After flying high against Pine Bluff last Saturday, Kimball came back down to earth. The Kimball Knights fell just short of the Midlothian Panthers by a score of 36-33 on Thursday. The Knights gained 96 more yards on the day, but it was the Panthers that made the best use of them.

Camrin Jackson and Armirie Williams-Hall certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Jackson picked up 259 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Williams-Hall threw for 449 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 67 yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (97 yards to be exact) also went to Jaylen Mosley, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Beau Wendel was a one-man wrecking crew for Midlothian as he rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Jayce McCoy was Wendel's top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 72 yards on only ten carries.

Kimball now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Midlothian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimball will face off against Pinkston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Midlothian, they will challenge Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
