Volleyball Recap: Lowellville Comes Up Short

After flying high against McKinley last Tuesday, Lowellville came back down to earth. The Rockets fell just short of the Waterloo Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Lowellville sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 20-25, 15-7.

Despite the loss, Lowellville still got an impressive performance from Natalee Macejko, who had 26 digs. Macejko has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Lowellville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Waterloo, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Lowellville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Springfield on the 28th. As for Waterloo, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Mineral Ridge on the 2nd.
