Softball Game Preview: Urbana Tigers vs. Peoria Notre Dame Irish

Urbana is 1-8 against Peoria Notre Dame since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the Irish at 4:30 p.m.

Urbana is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They fell 5-1 to Richwoods. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Peoria Notre Dame made sure to put some runs up on the board against Morton on Saturday. The Irish were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Potters. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Irish have posted against the Potters since March 29, 2018.

Peoria Notre Dame let Gracie Anderson and Ella Tady run wild. Anderson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs, while Tady went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most runs Anderson has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Addie Rezac, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Peoria Notre Dame kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Peoria Notre Dame, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
