St. Pauls had won three straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 9-6 to make it four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lumberton Pirates 10-8. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Josh Brooks, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cameron Mcneill was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As for Lumberton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 2, 2025.

On Lumberton's side, Brennan Griffin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The Pirates are 2-1 when Griffin posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Alba, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Coming up, St. Pauls will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Westover at 7:00 p.m. As for Lumberton, they will host Scotland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
