Baseball Recap: Wood River's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Wood River was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Jerome last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines lost 15-7 to the Mountain Home Tigers on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Alex Golub was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Wood River's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Luke Hebert, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.

Wood River's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Mountain Home, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6.
