It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Oakdale ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Greenback Cherokees 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Oakdale's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Smith has posted since back in April.

Oakdale pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Greenback, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
