Football Recap: Keytesville Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Keytesville faced off against Slater on Friday. The Tigers took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 44-8. The Tigers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Even if they lost, Keytesville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Griffin Cramer and Case Reckamp, who racked up eight sacks between them.

Carter Duncan produced another solid effort rushing for 148 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, while also picking up 136 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns for Slater. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Duncan a new career-high.

Keytesville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Slater, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coincidentally, Keytesville and Slater will both be playing Norborne/Hardin-Central the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face Norborne/Hardin-Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
