Volleyball Recap: Hawthorne Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Hawthorne took on Lawndale on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hawthorne took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 18-25, 20-25, 25-14, 15-7.

Hawthorne's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Lawndale, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Hawthorne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawndale, they will venture away from home to face off against Morningside at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
