The Tuckerman Bulldogs will face off against the Pocahontas Redskins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pocahontas took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tuckerman, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, everything went Tuckerman's way against Trumann as Tuckerman made off with a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Maegan Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Gracee McGuire was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Bristen Wheeler was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Pocahontas fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Wynne on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets. The Redskins haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Bailey O'Donnell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.
On the hitting side, River Duncan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were her first of the season.
Tuckerman's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.4 runs. As for Pocahontas, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
