Basketball Preview: Lumberton Raiders vs. Bridge City Cardinals
Lumberton is 9-1 against the Cardinals since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lumberton Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Bridge City Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Lumberton beat the Bears 48-39. The win was just what Lumberton needed coming off of a 75-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Bridge City earned a 52-45 win over the Pirates on Friday.
Lumberton pushed their record up to 15-15 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Bridge City, their victory bumped their record up to 22-12.
Lumberton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Cardinals in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lumberton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
